Thanks for your feedback. After posting with the same problem see above I had given up and resorted to using Thunderbird. I had tried with and without my Gmail and my Exchange accounts in case it was something strange about the account but nothing worked. Imagine my surprise when I gave Outlook a try after about 3 weeks just to see if it was still broken – and it is now working :- I had done nothing different and I can only imagine that a silent update had happened in the background to fix something that MS do not appear to have acknowledged as a problem.
It’s interesting that you work with your Gmail account but not with your Exchange account loaded. After your post, I tried the same thing and it worked for a couple of days with Gmail alone, so I assumed it was something odd about my Exchange account, which is large and has Enterprise Vault enabled.
However, it then started crashing as before with Gmail alone. I am crossing my fingers as I type this is that possible? Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. As with the preview version, Outlook Office will work just fine if I set up gmail as the only email account. But as soon as I try to add a synch with Outlook.
From what I can see, we’re still living with the – apparently eternal – inability of Microsoft to synch its own email system with its own Outlook product. This despite all the advertising and claims. Not sure why I would continue paying a monthly fee for Office without Outlook. The purpose of moving back to Office was to synch all email and contacts across the board. If Outlook can only work with gmail, then I might as well revert to google software for everything.
William Kauffman. Stan, I had the same problem and after 5 hours on the phone with microsoft, no help. I eventually found that you can right click on the outlook icon and run the troubleshoot compatibilty it will ask to revert to old versions that worked and I tried that and it seemed to work.
Hope that someone can help me get my office picture manager back. I have an identical problem, first on a Win7 PC and now on a brand new Win8 system, where Office was the first thing that I installed. If MS cannot even provide a working version of Outlook on a brand new system, what hope is there for them? In reply to srunderwood’s post on March 14, I too have the problem. Microsoft , Outlook I had a professional IT guy out here and he redid the profile. After about 3 hours I even started again on a brand new reformatted computer and same exact thing.
Why can’t Microsoft get it together? I am tired of internal nerds lecturing me that it is me while really it is the business system. In reply to FredAdler’s post on June 11, Give it another try and see if the same has happened for you. In reply to srunderwood’s post on June 12, I just tried it again and it worked for about 3 or 4 minutes, then shut down again just as before. So no fix. In reply to StanMetheny’s post on June 12, I have the same issue- installed trial version of which I hated I already had office Uninstalled it and now my Outlook doesn’t work I guess Microsoft will not help it appears.
So now what???? Hi Stan ,. Kindly Please try to create a new user Profile and check ,if it work Please transfer all your add to that new user. This site in other languages x.
